Qorvo is seeking an RF Power Amplifier Design Engineer to join our R&D team, designing and developing power amplifier products across a broad range of applications. This role goes beyond standard design work: you’ll take on challenging designs built on non-standard fab processes and emerging technology, and act as a key technical interface between the design team and the process integration team.

You’ll need to build a solid, working knowledge of Qorvo’s GaAs and GaN fabrication processes quickly, since that understanding directly shapes design decisions on this team. It’s a highly collaborative, high-visibility role for someone who enjoys solving first-of-a-kind problems at the boundary between design and process.

This is an onsite position where the expectation is to be onsite in our Barcelona office five days a week.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement power amplifiers using Qorvo’s GaAs and GaN technologies and processes, including designs built on non-standard or emerging fab processes.
• Design and optimize RF modules, including substrate-level implementation and integration of power amplifiers with other RF components.
• Partner directly with fab and process integration teams to align design choices with process capabilities as new technology is developed.
• Perform RF testing, characterization, and analysis in a lab environment.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• Background in electromagnetics, RF module design, and integration.
• Proficiency with circuit simulation tools (AWR or ADS) and EM simulation tools (HFSS, CST, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with microwave measurements and RF test equipment.
• Comfort working with evolving, non-standard design flows and new technology introduction, alongside cross-functional fab/integration teams.
• Knowledge of MATLAB, Python, or Visual Basic is a plus.
