SUMMARY

Based in the Qorvo, Toulouse or Sophia Antipolis office (France), part of the UWB Mobile & Secure Transactions Business Unit, the Sr Software Applications Engineer will contribute to the development and implementation of UWB software functions, stacks, reference designs and solutions dedicated to Qorvo Mobile phone applications and related products. He / she will work in close collaboration with Qorvo software development and integration teams. In this role, he / she will assist Qorvo customers in implementing Qorvo’s Ultra-Wideband wireless technology with the suitable software stacks and modules, thereby contributing to securing design-wins for Qorvo and ultimately driving revenue for the company.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide software technical support & expertise (focus on embedded firmware) to Qorvo customers for UWB ICs and solutions
  • Assist customers directly and indirectly (through local sales, FAE teams, peers from other BUs and Qorvo partners) in their software integration and development, and in the design of their Qorvo-based smartphones & wearable products
  • Implement Proof of concepts and customer demonstrations
  • Contribute to the firmware development of UWB solutions – possibly including system-level integration into Android and possibly other OS-based systems
  • Contribute to Customer acquisition and design win value
  • Interact with (and take advise from) lead software architect, software integration manager and peers (Application engineering team – HW & SW)
  • Produce technical documentation to the highest standards to drive customer understanding of Qorvo technology and the optimum ways in which to use it in particular applications
  • Reproduce, analyze, and solve technical issues seen on customer side in the laboratory to meet customer performance expectations
  • Participate to project follow up meetings – internal & external - including weekly meetings with Qorvo local teams and customers as required
  • Develop Qorvo’s UWB software know-how related to Mobile applications and share with other Applications teams in the regions
  • Deliver trainings and webinars to the rest of the organization

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor or MSEE degree in a relevant software engineering discipline
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Technical understanding: Embedded systems, digital, network & RF software layers
  • Hands-on expertise with real-time firmware development and telecom algorithm implementation in MCU and real-time OS platforms
  • Experience with network MAC, security, and radio communication software layers (such as 802-15-4, FiRA, NFC, Secure Elements) will be strong a plus
  • Expertise with C/C++ programming; real time environments and embedded OS
  • Software test and methodology
  • Android experience is a plus (Kernel, HAL, Android flow, Java/Apk).
