Senior Software Field Applications Engineer

ABOUT QORVO

In this role, the Field Applications Engineer (FAE) will be responsible for supporting key Ultra-wideband, Matter, Thread, Zigbee and Bluetooth Low Energy customer accounts across Europe. The FAE will be involved in troubleshooting software issues with the customer as well as promoting Qorvo technology to prospective customers. The FAE should work closely with sales and marketing to align and identify strategic customers to support. They should also work closely with the development teams to resolve customer issues and share feedback on how the Qorvo solution can be improved or modified to better suit customer needs.

Responsibilities:

• Work alongside sales and marketing teams to provide pre-design-in sales promotion support. Presenting UWB, Matter, Thread, Zigbee and Bluetooth Low Energy, technology to customers, assessing customers technical requirements and proposing appropriate solutions to meet those requirements. Prior customer presentation skills and experience, using PowerPoint slides, in a similar context, a plus.
• First line support for customer software issues
• Reproduce and solve technical issues seen on customer platforms in the laboratory, working with internal development teams.
• Support customers with system design validation and debug from prototype to successful mass production ramp.
• Some travel in Europe expected (25%), to visit customers and build relationships with key accounts

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proficient in C/C++
• Experience working on microcontroller-based systems (ARM, RISC, etc)
• Familiar with intimate details of at least one wireless protocol (UWB, Bluetooth, Thread and Zigbee etc)
• Knowledge of serial protocols (SPI, UART, I2C, etc.)
• Excellent problem-solving approach and a strong desire to the see the customer succeed
• Experience working with customers and/or strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work on own initiative to come up with innovative solutions. English proficiency required
• Ability to plan and deliver to tight schedules and be self-motivated
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar, Master’s degree of benefit.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS (BENEFIT)

• Experience with FreeRTOS and/or Zephyr
• Experience in other programming languages such as python
• Knowledge of basic RF principles
• Familiarity with lab equipment i.e. Spectrum Analysers, Network Analysers, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analysers, Multimeters and Power Supplies
• Experience working with high volume customers leading to successful production ramp
