SUMMARY

Based in Qorvo Office, Toulouse (France), Sophia Antipolis (France) or Dublin (Ireland), part of the Connectivity System Business Unit Mobile Product Line, the Senior Software Applications Engineer will contribute to the development and implementation of UWB software functions, stacks, reference designs and solutions dedicated to Qorvo Mobile phone applications and related products. He/she will work in close collaboration with Qorvo software development and integration teams as well as with end-customers. In this role, he/she will assist Qorvo customers in implementing Qorvo’s Ultra-Wideband wireless technology with the suitable software stacks and modules.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide software technical support & expertise to Qorvo Mobile, Tier 1 accounts, for all Qorvo UWB products and solutions
  • Assist customers directly and indirectly (through local sales, FAE teams, other BUs’ peers, Qorvo partners) in their software integration and development, test & validation, performance improvements, and in the design of their Qorvo-based smartphones & wearable products
  • Interact with (and take advise from) lead software architects, software integration manager and peers (Application engineering team – HW & SW)
  • Contribute to customer acquisition and design win value
  • Produce technical documentation to the highest standards to drive customer understanding of Qorvo technology and the optimum ways in which to use it in specific applications and use cases. This includes User Guides, and Application Notes
  • Reproduce, analyze, and solve technical issues seen on customer platforms in the laboratory to meet customer performance expectations
  • Develop Qorvo’s UWB software know-how related to Mobile applications and share with other Mobile Field Applications teams in the regions
  • Will be involved with Reference Design - software engineering activities - with leading suppliers of Mobile Application Processors, of Secure Elements and of other communication media ICs including NFC, WiFi and BLE.
  • Participate to project follow up meetings – internal & external - including weekly meetings with Qorvo local teams and customers as required
  • Implement Proof of concepts and customer demonstrations

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor or MSEE degree in a relevant software engineering discipline
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience with a strong focus on embedded systems
  • Experience in the Semiconductor industry and / or on the mobile phone industry highly desired
  • Hands-on expertise with real-time firmware development and telecom algorithm implementation in MCU and real-time OS platforms
  • Expertise with C/C++, JAVA, Python programming; real time environments and embedded OS
  • Experience with network MAC, security, and radio communication software layers (such as 802-15-4, FiRA, NFC, Secure Elements) will be strong a plus
  • Software test and methodology
  • Android experience will be a strong plus (Kernel, HAL, Android flow, Java/Apk).
  • Ability to read HW schematics, use oscilloscope, logic analyzer and RF tester equipment
  • Excellent communicator (internal and external), and at ease with customer facing
  • Ability to work autonomously
