Qorvo’s System-on-Chip Design Engineering Internships are offered in our High Performance Analog, Advanced Cellular, and Connectivity and Sensors business groups. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Producing and implementing designs to meet customer specifications for RF, analog, power management, mixed-signal, and digital SoC systems & circuits
  • Meeting performance requirements while also considering size, cost, footprint, power dissipation and schedule
  • Partnering with test/characterization personnel to perform circuit simulations with lab testing as needed
  • Designing and testing RF circuits (PA, LNA, SW, MIXER, VCO/PLL), analog/MS circuits (Gm-C/SC-filters, ADC/DAC), OR digital circuits (modem, interfacing-uC/MEM/NVM, FSM)
  • Potential to work with:
    • Signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters to compare simulated data to real lab data
    • Transistor level circuit design, simulation, and layout
    • Digital RTL simulation, synthesis, & place-n-route tools
    • Analog/RF measurement and digital capture/pattern-generation
    • Scripting automated/regression simulation environments (SKILL, python, TCL, bash)

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • RF/microwave, analog, & digital integrated-circuit design coursework and/or experience
  • Exposure to RF measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, logic analyzers and digital pattern generators
  • EDA Software exposure: Momentum, Synopsis, Mentor Calibre, Cadence Virtuoso/EMX/Xcelium, Dynamic Link
  • Scripting exposure: SKILL, python, TCL, bash
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Self-Starter with good communication skills
  • Effective organization skills for systematic planning and scheduling
