SUMMARY

Qorvo is seeking an experienced RFIC designer for our Connectivity Components Business Unit (CCBU) in Greensboro, NC. This candidate will be responsible for the design of various RFIC circuits including LNA’s, switches, associated analog/digital control circuitry, and their integration into multi-chip module (MCM) solutions for IoT and Smart Energy applications. The candidate will work within a cross-functional and cross-site team and own the delivery of compelling and differentiated solutions. For the ideal candidate, there is opportunity for both leadership and individual contributor responsibilities growing our RFIC design capacity and capability. This candidate would drive technology and product leadership from ideation to obsolescence (including product definition, architecture, topology, detailed design, simulation, validation, qualification, and product support) enabling business growth and profitability in the Internet of Things (IoT).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Design and development of RF switches, LNAs, and supporting analog circuitry (including bandgaps, charge pumps, LDOs, level shifters, etc.) for IoT and Smart Energy applications utilizing SiGe, SOI, and CMOS technologies

Support of LNA and/or switch integration into multi-chip modules (MCM)

 Expert use of RF measurement equipment with the ability to troubleshoot issues

 Conducting peer reviews of designs, including expected and/or actual results

 Writing regular updates on design/evaluation status

 Committed engineer able to execute to an aggressive schedule

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Bachelor's degree (minimum) with 10 years minimum experience, M.S. or Ph.D. (preferred) with 5 years minimum experience.

 5+ years of experience in switch, LNA and/or silicon RFIC design

 Extensive experience designing with Cadence, HFSS, and ADS

 Working experience in RF design techniques and EM simulation

 Working knowledge of device physics, especially tradeoffs for switch and LNA implementations

 Strong background in various linear and nonlinear simulation techniques and simulators

 Capable of refining simulation results to achieve excellent predictability with the goal of first pass success

 Good communication skills

 Ability to work independently and in a team

 Candidates with successful production release of switches and/or LNAs for mobile applications would be highly considered
