SUMMARY:

We are looking for a skilled Staff Design Engineer to join the Qorvo Automotive Connectivity Business Unit (ACBU). This person will be responsible for the development of innovative products for the automotive market based on Qorvo's advanced semiconductor and packaging technologies. In this role, you will both develop custom integrated circuits for applications unique to the Automotive space as well as evaluate and modify existing solutions to meet Automotive requirements. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of the design and analysis of common RF building blocks including PAs, LNAs, switches, filters, couplers, and the methods to integrate these into an RF module.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to architect, define, and specify solutions.
  • Propose circuit lineups, architectures, and topologies that meet system specifications, and explain tradeoffs between options.
  • Conduct detailed circuit design and simulations of RF building blocks as well as the aggregate system they comprise.
  • Perform detailed evaluation of existing Si die, GaAs die and module designs to assess the feasibility of supporting Automotive temperature and lifetime requirements and propose modifications.
  • Redesign or rework designs to meet Automotive requirements by modifying die or modules, completing simulations, implementing layouts, and conducting appropriate design reviews
  • Characterize, verify, and debug the design through lab measurements.
  • Understand, reinforce, and improve design best practices, reviews, and other product line design processes.
  • Provides mentorship and direction to junior engineers.
  • Generate and maintain detailed documentation including specifications, FMEAs, assembly drawings, BOMs, design, and compliance reviews.
