Sr Field Applications Engineer

  1. Product Analysis: Understand RF Product performance and specifications in receiver and transmitter chain. Such products include: LNA’s, Power Amplifiers, ASM, Switch, SAW filter, Antenna tuner and DCDC etc. Must have good understanding of product functions and applications in system architecture. Must be able to work with matching circuits for various specifications such as PA efficiency and linearity.
  2. Product Development Cycle: Must have technical understanding of complete product cycle from system requirements, applications, design specifications, product characterization, qualifications, reliability. Must be able to communicate and address issues at any and all phases.
  3. Field Technical support: Support customers in the field with any and all technical issues involving system architecture (definition, system specifications, block diagrams), product type and applications (troubleshoot circuits, demonstrate product functionality, offer alternate design methods), designs (external matching, bias schemes), reliability (MSL, FA’s, Thermal analysis), packaging (substrates, MSL, material sets, modules, MMIC’s), Assembly (Manufacturing notes, reflow profiles, solder properties, MSL) system board layouts (impedance control, board material, BOM, layer stack up), Testing (performance correlation, yield analysis, qualifications), and failure analysis (RMA, Corrective action). Work with technical team in U.S. offices to communicate and resolve field technical issues.
  4. Customer Design Cycle: Understand customer’s design cycles. Communicate effectively to Internal customers on every stage of customer’s design cycle, changes, and results. Generate progress reports detailing from design phase to Mass Production including competitive information, key contacts, design platforms, volume, issues,  and any other pertinent technical information. Plan and participate customer visits, training, and seminars accordingly.
  5. Design and Lab support: Work with standard RF test equipment such as test box, spectrum analyzer, power meter, signal generator, vector network analyzer, digital scopes, and standard re-work stations. Work with circuit simulation packages such as ADS, Cadence, Microwave office, and PA load pull system.



  1. BSEE/MSEE with 5+ years of working experience in handset design industry.
  2. Better to have strong RFIC applications knowledge with MMIC’s, chip sets, modules, and overall system specifications.
  3. Must be familiar with different wireless applications and standards such as GSM, EDGE, TDSCDMA, CDMA, WCDMA,LTE and 5G.
  4. Familiar with MIPI and register configuration especially on QCOM and MTK platform.
  5. Familiar with radio (Tx/Rx) and antenna design is a plus.
  6. Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Power point, Visio, ADS or equivalent simulation tool.
  7. Speak and write English well.
  8. Can accept Frequently travel and driver license is a plus.
