Qorvo is looking for an experienced Engineer in Semiconductor Wafer Processing in Manufacturing and/or Research with an interest in Quality that will join Qorvo’s Global; Supplier Quality Engineering Team.  This position can be located in either in Greensboro, NC, Richardson, TX, Hillsboro, OR and Northern CA.

 

Ideal candidate will utilize their broad technical experience in a Si/GaAs/GaN wafer fab experience from a high volume manufacturing environment to support the selection, development, qualification, and high-volume quality management of wafer foundries. Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to excel in a dynamic collaborative team environment is imperative to the success of this position

 

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Product Development at external foundries
  • Execute Supplier Clean Launch activities to manage risk
  • Support Supplier Selection and Management of ASL (Approved Supplier List)
  • Manage Controls and Traceability over Prototype vs Production Materials
  • Review/Approve Communication of CTQ (Critical-To-Quality) Features into Drawings
  • Release Quality Information Records
  • Part Setup in SAP
  • Supplier Quality Management
  • Qualification of new masks at incumbent or new Foundry partners
  • Supplier Change Management (PCNs: Process Change Notification)
  • Manage and Resolve Supplier Quality Issues
  • Manage Supplier Quality Records in Qorvo Supplier Management systems and SAP
  • Enforce Supplier Development/ Continuous Improvement
  • Drive Supplier Quality Performance (On-site / Virtual Assessments, Scorecards, Metrics, etc.)
  • Manage Supplier Quality Systems
  • Ensure Material Compliance to ISO/Auto/D&A, and other Applicable Standards
  • Utilize Qorvo systems to manage; 8Ds, A3s, and other Quality (CAPA) processes
  • Use SDP (Supplier Document Portal) to manage docs to suppliers
  • Help define new and innovative strategies for driving quality improvement at our suppliers to enable identifying and mitigating risk proactively
  • Create and drive initiative to reduce / control Cost or Poor Quality
  • Proactive Risk Mitigation
  • Material Nonconformance Management
  • Identify and Communicate Suppliers of Quality Concerns
  • Track and Report Metrics, Health Assessment, Performance Monitoring, etc.
  • Facilitate RMA/RTVs (Return Material Authorizations/Return to Vendor)
  • Resolve Blocked Stock Materials
  • Lead resolution of supplier quality issues affecting supply chains for Qorvo’s diverse products across the globe
  • General Responsibilities
  • Promote clear communication of Qorvo requirements to Supplier
  • Support Cross Functional Projects (Worldwide)

 

Qualifications:

  • BS, or higher in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Material science
  • 7-10 years’ direct experience in supplier quality engineering experience
  • Thorough industry knowledge and experience of semiconductor device manufacturing processes and how these processes are affected by their quality management system.
  • Strong background in quality management principles in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Solid Quality Engineering background with deep knowledge and detailed understanding of process control, SPC methodologies, reporting and when to use, DOE approaches and quality management system
  • Enjoy data manipulation, drawing conclusions and driving continuous improvements through data
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal customers and suppliers of a complex supply chain
  • Must be self-motivated and self-directed in fast paced cooperative technology environment and have demonstrated abilities to manage multiple priorities, multi-tasking and organizational skills paramount
  • Detail oriented with ZERO DEFECTS drive
  • Problem solver with an understanding of 8D methodologies to resolve issues; experience with Kaizen, LEAN, and HV-CPI preferred
  • Experience in Wafer Manufacturing in an HVM environment
  • Completed quality auditor training or Certified as Lead Auditor
  • Strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Program Management Methodologies
  • SAP, Spotfire, and JMP skills highly desirable Polished Presentation skills and ability to interface with all levels of management as needed
  • Travel Domestic / International 15-20%
