We are creating a new position of Standards and Systems Specialist. The person, reporting to the Sr Marketing Manager of the BU, will be in charge to contribute to the definition and the implementation of Systems level specification (Systems, HW, SW) discussed in different Standards consortia (CCC, FiRa, IEEE) regrouping a large number of companies, for the Mobile phone, its ecosystem and the related use cases. They will be actively contributing to the definition of new industry Standards involving a new RF technology to be deployed in the Mobile phones, consumer electronics and cars.



  • Lead Standardization efforts at FiRA/CCC and other Standards

The candidate will actively participate to the definition of the systems, SW and HW specifications and lead the standardization effors at FiRa, a newly created Standardization entity. They will work within a team of contributors from different locations.

  • Lead discussions and defend Qorvo’s best interest

In their contribution to the Standards works, the candidate leads the spec efforts and discussions in order to serve Qorvo’s best interest while ensuring the best technical choice is selected, bringing fact-based arguments and data driven proposals. The candidate will work in close collaboration with other teams within Qorvo (IC design, Algo, SW, systems, marketing).

  • Mobile Architecture Expertise

The candidate will have a solid expertise in Mobile phone systems and architecture. They will keep/extend/deepen their knowledge in the Mobile phone domains such as security features and specs, HW architecture, SW architecture, and the HW/SW partitioning.

  • Systems Level architecture

The candidate will contribute, thanks to their deep understanding of the Mobile phone architecture and telecom/wireless standards, to lead and influence product architecture and HW/SW partitioning, but also integration options that will benefit the customers’ implementation.

  • Strong expertise in Mobile phone systems and/or telecom wireless technologies
  • Strong experience in dealing with Standards works, whether telecom, IEEE, ETSI or other
  • Strong experience of the semiconductor industry and products such as SoC, SW Defined Radios and RF transceivers
  • Solid understanding of low-power RF technologies, standards and related expectations.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Highly analytical mindset, with an ability to see both the big picture and the details.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • 5 to 10 years of industry experience in a fast-paced tech company in the Mobile or the wireless telecom space, including direct management and delivery of large, technically complex product development programs
  • Knowledge of the Android world is a plus.
  • Superior communications skills: interpersonal, written, and presentation
  • Superior organizational skills: notes, formal documentation, task assignment
  • Proven ability to understand and breakdown complex, multifaceted programs and projects into manageable pieces, organize cross-functionally and drive execution
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and starting from "scratch"
  • Creative, analytical, and driven
  • Ability to handle client and customer issues tactfully and professionally
  • Engineering / Master’s degree in Electronics (HW/SW) or computer science
