We are looking for a designer responsible for the development of innovative, leading-edge integrated circuits used in Qorvo’s diversified RF products. This will involve designing analog/mixed-signal integrated circuits using CMOS, BCD and/or BiCMOS process technologies. The Design Engineer will implement designs such power management, control systems, signal sources and circuits for products supporting diverse product segments such as Mobile Infrastructure, Defense and Aerospace, Broadband Infrastructure and 5G networks among others. The position will use design tools such as Cadence Virtuoso and simulation analysis tools such as Cadence Spectre and AMS. The Design Engineer must have good communication and presentation skills to hold design reviews and discuss design architectures and approaches with the team. Depending on experience level, a portion of your time could be involved in mentoring other team members in contributing new and innovative design ideas. You will be a key member of an integrated product development team that includes marketing, program management, mechanical engineering, product engineering, package engineering, test engineering, applications engineering, manufacturing, operations, quality and reliability, and senior management.
Responsibilities
- Specify, design, analyze and simulate analog/mixed-signal electronic integrated circuits
- Implement analog/mixed-signal circuit designs in silicon technologies
- Evaluate, test and characterize fabricated hardware
- Design and implement required evaluation hardware, test plans and assembly documents
- Summarize and document work in written and verbal reviews, support peer design reviews
- As member of product teams, work with technicians, product engineers, quality engineers, project managers to support design transition into production
- Support product through critical lifecycle stages including concept/feasibility, development, qualification, and production
- Mentor others in design concepts and best practices
- Publish novel design work internally or externally to promote Qorvo’s technology and design capabilities and submit invention disclosures for potential patents where applicable
Qualifications
- Experience with CMOS, BCD and/or BiCMOS based process technologies
- Experience designing analog circuits such as bandgap references, operational amplifiers, comparators, voltage controlled oscillators, frequency converters, Digital to Analog converters, Analog to Digital converters
- Knowledge of control system and feedback theory, loop and noise analysis
- Knowledge of mixed signal design and analysis using tools such as Cadence Virtuoso AMS
- Proficient with linear and non-linear analog circuit simulation using Cadence Virtuoso tools
- Proficient in circuit layout using Cadence Virtuoso or ability to guide layout designer to generate layouts using proper analog layout techniques
- Experience performing hardware evaluation using electronic lab test equipment such as oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, signals sources, arbitrary waveform generator
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Power Management IC circuit design a plus
- Knowledge of serial bus protocols such as I2C, I3C, RFFE and SPI a plus
- Knowledge or exposure to digital circuit design, analysis and synthesis using Verilog and/or VHDL a plus
- BS Electrical Engineering with five (5) or more years of relevant design experience
- MS or PhD Electrical Engineering with two (2) or more years of relevant design experience

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $140,100 - $182,100, relevant for the California Bay Area (subject to change dependent on physical location)
