Summary
As a Module Integrator Intern, you will work on the development of advanced RF front-end modules designed for 5G NR and 6G smartphone applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate individual high-performance hardware components into a single, optimized multi-chip module.
Responsibilities may include
- Contributing to the design of RF front-end modules (RF-FEM), including power amplifiers (PAs), silicon-on-insulator (SOI) dies, filter dies, and surface-mounted devices (SMDs). You will ensure that the modules meet target performance specifications while considering size, cost, footprint, and schedule.
- Building complex HFSS EM models of multi-functional RF front-end modules to extract the best possible performance, prevent unwanted coupling, and minimize shielding effects.
- Conducting full module simulations (FMS) across all functional states to identify compliance issues and proposing solutions to improve margins relative to specifications.
- Collaborating with team members to contribute design schematics, simulations, and real lab data.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Coursework and/or experience in RF and analog circuit design
- Strong understanding of fundamental electronics engineering concepts, including impedance matching using Smith charts, and RF/microwave parameters such as gain, loss, noise figure, and stability
- Hands-on experience with simulation and EDA tools, such as ADS, FEM, HFSS, Momentum, Cadence, EMX, and/or AWR
- Experience with passive RF structures such as filters, couplers, dividers, patch antennas, and/or active CMOS circuits tape-out, along with lab characterization using spectrum analyzers and network analyzers, is preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with excellent communication skills for conveying complex technical information.
- Effective organizational skills for systematic planning and scheduling.
- Detail-oriented approach to ensure the design and delivery of high-yielding products.
Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience: $36/hr - $48/hr, relevant for the California Bay Area (subject to change dependent on physical location)
