RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilities Operations & Maintenance
- Manage routine maintenance and reliability of critical building systems, including HVAC, compressed air, humidification, exhaust, electrical distribution, fire and life safety systems, and other utilities as required.
- Participate in construction projects, equipment installations, and facility upgrades—supporting planning, scoping, commissioning, and coordination activities.
- Evaluate facility systems and infrastructure needs, identifying improvements to increase uptime, operational efficiency, and long‑term reliability.
Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of coordination for third‑party service providers, including mechanical, electrical, security, janitorial, and specialty contractors.
- Ensure service levels, work quality, and compliance expectations are met through routine oversight and communication.
Space Planning & Corporate Support
- Perform corporate space planning by maintaining accurate seating charts, capacity models, and space utilization data.
- Collaborate with site leaders and lab groups to forecast future facility requirements and support upcoming operational changes.
Safety, Environmental & Regulatory Compliance
- Support and manage site safety and environmental compliance programs; responsibilities include permitting, waste stream management, and acting as an on‑site resource for EHS issues.
- Participate in on‑call response for facility‑related alarms and events as needed, such as life safety alarms or equipment incidents.
Administrative & Financial
- Issue purchase orders, manage vendor invoices, and track spend related to facilities services and materials.
- Maintain documentation, proposals, schedules, and facility records to support internal audits, compliance programs, and continuous improvement.
Other
- Occasional travel (<10%) for training, meetings, or to support nearby sites.
- Work across multiple internal organizations to ensure facilities planning aligns with business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Technical & Operational
- Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities operations, maintenance, project coordination, or a similar role in a technical or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of building systems and basic knowledge of safety, mechanical, piping, and electrical standards.
- Experience evaluating new equipment, systems, or infrastructure and providing recommendations for implementation or improvement.
Software & Tools
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to learn and utilize maintenance management systems and internal enterprise tools; experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
Communication & Project Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write proposals, prepare presentations, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated background in project management with the ability to lead small‑ to medium‑scale projects (individual contributor capacity).
Role Structure
- This role does not supervise any employees and has no direct reports.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $96,600 - $125,500, relevant for the California Bay Area (subject to change dependent on physical location)
