Qorvo SFBU is looking for a Sr Application Engineer. In this role, you will be working closely with our mechanical, electrical, and software teams to integrate our sensing products into our customer's electronic devices. We work closely with different OEMs on next generation products such as window switch panels, smart surfaces and wearables, etc. This will provide you with an opportunity to understand how different products are designed and manufactured. In this role, you will see the entire process from concept design, proof of concept builds through mass production. Your task will focus on system software integration and algorithm development. There will also be opportunities for traveling to customer headquarters in Asia and Europe. This job will give you the opportunity to work closely with MEMS and CMOS designers, helping them continuously improve the family of products we offer. This is a fast-paced role, we need engineers who are hungry to learn and move fast.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Owner of technical documentation like application note, datasheet, design guide.

Participate in multi-disciplinary activities in electrical design, hardware bring-up of solutions of targeted applications.

Propose and implement innovative solutions for internal and customers’ designs particularly in software integration and algorithm development.

Prototype/product test & characterization
-
Support sensor promotion, address customers & FEAs’ questions/issues from concept to MP
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science

Minimum of 5 years of relevant, professional experience
-
Experience in technical writing for electronic devices including hardware, software, and mechanical structure

Fluent in at least one of the following languages: C/C++, Python

Comfortable in a highly collaborative environment, able to discuss tactical problems with cross function team and working towards the common goal of the best solution possible.

Experience using lab equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, multimeter, solder iron.

Hands on experience in sensor & embedded system design, firmware development, sensor signal postprocess is strongly desirable

Algorithm development experiences is a plus

Experience designing Proof-of-Concepts strongly preferred

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $136,000 - $176,800, relevant for the California Bay Area (subject to change dependent on physical location)
Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability.
