SUMMARY: Supplier Quality Management Systems; Return Material Authorizations, discrepant material requests, SCARS
This is a full-time Intern position located in Richardson, TX. The position will be temporary in nature and last approximately 12-months.
NOTE: Because this is a student internship, the candidate must be a currently enrolled student in a degree-seeking accredited program.
Desired Degree: Mechanical Engineering, Mfg Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) in quality management of purchased materials through various tasks
- Ensure that inspection and design documentation provides clear, concise guidance regarding critical parameters and acceptance criteria
- Support the development of plans to reduce incoming inspections without impacting product quality
- Support material disposition through defect verification using microscopes/measurement tools to determine whether parts meet drawing specification,
- Review (and archive) supplier documentation and other deliverables for thoroughness and accuracy
- Update system tools to ensure supplier files, measured data, and reports are organized and current
- Capture, sort, and organize defects to help define acceptable and reject criteria for Incoming Inspection
- Support management of Supplier Quality metrics, specifications, and procedures
- Interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, and other Quality organizations to also support product development and production
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree: BSME, Mfg. Engineering, Industrial Engineering
- GPA of 3.0
- Proficiency in the use of computers, especially MS Windows, Word, Excel, etc.
- Organized, with strong analytical/problem-solving skills
- Solid interpersonal abilities with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter, Team player, able to work independently
- Because this position is part of a business unit that contracts with the US government, qualified candidates must be U.S. persons (generally a US citizen or green card holder). Individuals holding temporary visas, such as F-1 or H-1B, are not U.S. persons.
