Staff Manufacturing System Software Engineer

In this role you will be working in a high-performance IT engineering team building and sustaining the software and manufacturing systems that keep our fabs running. In this role, you’ll directly support Qorvo R&D and manufacturing teams. You’ll own end-to-end solutions (design, develop, deploy, and troubleshoot), partner closely with manufacturing and engineering stakeholders, and help shape system architecture as we modernize and scale.

Responsibilities:

• Support existing Manufacturing Systems and Applications.
• Software development, deployment, and troubleshooting of customer-centric services and applications for manufacturing automation.
• Adheres to coding standards, pattern-based development principles and participates in coding review to help maintain and preserve established, best practices coding outcomes.
• Maintains awareness of technology trends and identifies opportunities for potential assimilation into existing systems while prioritizing stability and consistency.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software development
• Hands-on experience in software development using object-oriented language that follows complete development life cycle for Windows/Linux
• Familiarity with web and front-end frameworks (.NET, Django, React, Knockout JS)
• Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL (Oracle, MSSQL)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Direct experience with manufacturing systems within the semiconductor manufacturing industry
• Experience with development and support of manufacturing systems, and Manufacturing Execution Systems in particular strongly preferred.
• Experience with Siemens OpCenter Manufacturing Execution System
• Familiarity with Windows Services

• Familiarity with test-driven development methodologies, structured refactoring methodologies, design patterns (e.g., MVC, MVVM).
• Exposure to containerization and orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)

Work Environment:

• This is an onsite position, where the expectation is for this person to be onsite five days a week in our Richardson, TX office.
