We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Staff Linux Engineer to lead infrastructure automation and cloud integration initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in Linux systems, infrastructure-as-code practices, and modern monitoring/logging tools. You will serve as a technical leader, architecting and supporting solutions involving Foreman, AWX, Graylog, cloud platforms, and Python-driven automation. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure Linux infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments. 
  • Architect and maintain provisioning workflows using Foreman and AWX/Ansible Tower. 
  • Develop Python scripts and automation tools to streamline operations, reduce manual intervention, and improve system reliability. 
  • Implement and manage centralized logging infrastructure with Graylog, ensuring effective log aggregation, search, and alerting. 
  • Collaborate with cloud teams to integrate Linux systems into cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OpenStack). 
  • Establish and enforce best practices in configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, patching, and compliance. 
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across infrastructure stacks. 
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal technical documentation and knowledge sharing. 
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts and participate in incident response for critical production issues. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 12+ years of professional experience (or equivalent combination of a degree and experience) within IT
  • 8+ years of experience in Linux system engineering or DevOps roles. 
  • Hands-on experience with Foreman/Katello and AWX/Ansible Tower for provisioning and configuration management. 
  • Strong proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and system integration. 
  • Experience with Graylog or similar centralized logging platforms (ELK stack, Splunk). 
  • Proven experience managing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenStack). 
  • Solid understanding of system security, networking, and high availability design principles. 
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with complex infrastructure. 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions). 
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). 
  • Experience integrating Foreman with external services (DNS, DHCP, Puppet/Chef, etc.). 
  • Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi). 
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or similar certifications.
