We’re hiring a Senior RF Test Development Engineer to join our High Performance Analog team, where you’ll own automated RF test solutions that bring multi-channel beamformer ICs from lab characterization to high-volume production. You’ll architect and debug the full test stack, RF hardware (load boards/fixtures/contactors/switching), VNA-based measurements, and automation software for instrument control and digital beam-steering interfaces. In this highly visible role, you’ll turn complex RF/DC data into clear insights that improve yield, correlation, and product performance by driving root-cause investigations across design, systems, and product teams. You’ll also define test plans, calibration methods, and documentation that enable smooth production transfer and long-term station support.

This is an onsite role where the expectation is to be onsite five days a week at our Richardson TX office.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop automated RF test solutions for multi channel beamformer ICs using vector network analyzers (VNAs) and related instrumentation.
  • Design, implement, and validate test hardware, including load boards, fixtures, semiconductor contactors, and switching/multiplexing solutions for high density RF paths.
  • Develop test automation software to control VNAs, switch matrices, source measurement units, and digital interfaces for beam steering control.
  • Characterize device performance such as gain, phase, insertion loss, beam steering accuracy, linearity, isolation, S parameters, and DC power consumption/efficiency.
  • Integrate digital control interfaces (SPI, I²C, GPIO) for beamformer configuration during measurements.
  • Create and test plans, calibration procedures, and documentation for production transfer.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, systems engineering and product engineering to ensure accurate test coverage.
  • Analyze large data sets to troubleshoot measurement issues, identify root cause, and drive corrective actions.
  • Support correlation activities between socketed production bench and soldered design bench performance.
  • Support test station setup and troubleshooting.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to support engineering test development projects.
  • Create test documentation, procedures, and reports.
  • Will travel less than 10% of the time domestically.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, RF/Microwave Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience (or an equivalent amount of an advanced degree and experience) in RF test development, RF measurements, or microwave instrumentation.
  • Strong experience with vector network analyzers, including calibration (SOLT, TRL, ECal), de embedding, and fixture characterization.
  • Proficiency with RF measurement fundamentals: S parameters, phase/gain matching, NF, IMD, compression, phase coherence, and switch based multiport measurements.
  • Demonstrated ability to design or troubleshoot RF test hardware, including PCBs, connectors, RF paths and components.
  • Familiarity with C based languages, preferably C#.
  • Experience controlling instruments via SCPI, LAN, GPIB, and USB.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and device datasheets.
  • Solid problem solving skills and ability to drive issues to closure.

Desired Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF/Microwave Engineering, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of beamforming IC architectures, phased arrays, and phased-channel calibration techniques.
  • Experience with mmWave measurements or highly integrated beamformers.
  • Experience with switch matrix design, multiport measurement optimization, or over the air (OTA) test setups.
  • Familiarity with production test transfer and correlation between production and design bench.
  • Understanding of statistical data analysis, GR&R, repeatability, and measurement uncertainty.
