Senior Mechanical Engineer – Foundry Engineering

Qorvo is seeking a collaborative, detail-driven Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Foundry Engineering Group. In this role, you will support internal and external customers by enabling successful adoption of Qorvo’s Process Design Kits (PDKs) and Assembly Design Kits (ADKs), with a strong focus on package design, documentation, and training.

You will work closely with customers, applications engineers, design teams, and manufacturing partners to ensure our foundry technologies are clearly documented, easy to use, and aligned with real-world design and manufacturing requirements. This role combines hands-on mechanical design experience with customer enablement, documentation development, and cross-functional collaboration.

This is an onsite role where the current expectation is to be onsite a minimum of four days a week in our Richardson, TX office. This is subject to change based on business needs.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support customers in the use and adoption of Qorvo PDKs and ADKs for RF and electro-mechanical product development
  • Design and develop laminate-based package solutions using the various package options defined within Qorvo PDKs
  • Create, maintain, and improve high-quality training materials, application notes, and documentation for ADKs and packaging methodologies
  • Develop and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, and package design collateral using CAD tools such as SolidWorks or equivalent
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Foundry Engineering, Mechanical Design, Electrical Engineering, and Applications Engineering to ensure design accuracy and usability
  • Provide guidance on package design best practices, including manufacturability, thermal considerations, and mechanical integration
  • Build and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and package documentation aligned with PDK/ADK releases
  • Support design reviews, customer engagements, and technical discussions related to packaging and mechanical integration
  • Troubleshoot design, integration, and documentation issues and drive improvements to PDK/ADK content and usability
  • Ensure documentation complies with GD&T standards, drafting practices, and internal specifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in mechanical design, packaging, product engineering, or related field
  • Hands-on experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks
  • Experience creating mechanical drawings, assemblies, and managing BOMs
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and standard mechanical drafting practices
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with internal teams and external customers
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional engineering environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with RF products, semiconductor packaging, or electronics packaging
  • Familiarity with laminate package design and substrate technologies
  • Experience working with PDKs, ADKs, or similar design enablement tools
  • Experience developing technical training materials, user guides, or application documentation
  • Knowledge of PLM/PDM systems and configuration management processes
  • Experience supporting customer-facing engineering or applications roles
  • Exposure to manufacturing processes related to packaging and electro-mechanical integration
