We are looking for a collaborative, detail-driven Mechanical Engineer to support the design documentation and release of complex electro-mechanical products. In this role, you will create and maintain high-quality assembly drawings, BOMs, and product documentation that enable efficient manufacturing, testing, and lifecycle management. You will work closely with Mechanical Design, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing/Test Engineering, Supply Chain, and suppliers to ensure designs are accurate, manufacturable, and properly controlled through release.

This is an onsite role where the current expectation is to be onsite a minimum of four days a week in our Richardson TX office. This is subject to change based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain detailed electro-mechanical assembly drawings, part drawings, and documentation packages for complex products and subsystems
  • Develop 3D models, 2D drawings, exploded views, and integration layouts using CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent
  • Build and manage accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product structures within PLM and ERP systems
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and smooth transition from prototype to production
  • Ensure drawings and documentation comply with GD&T standards, drafting standards, and internal specifications
  • Support engineering change orders (ECOs), revision control, and configuration management activities across the product lifecycle
  • Troubleshoot assembly, fit, and integration issues during prototype and production builds and drive documentation updates as needed
  • Develop cable routing, harness documentation, and integration details for electro-mechanical systems
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to clarify drawing intent, resolve documentation questions, and improve release quality

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience (or an equivalent amount of an advanced degree and expereince) in mechanical design, electro-mechanical documentation, product engineering, or related role
  • Hands on experience working within SolidWorks
  • Experience creating assembly drawings, managing BOMs, and supporting revision control
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and standard mechanical drafting practices
  • Experience with PLM or PDM systems such as Windchill, Teamcenter, Arena, or equivalent
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, cable assemblies, or electromechanical integration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with RF products, electronics packaging, or test equipment
  • Familiarity with cable and harness design, routing practices, or integration documentation
  • Experience supporting high-mix, low-volume manufacturing or new product introduction environments
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, change control processes, and configuration management
  • Exposure to regulatory, certification, or product compliance requirements

This position requires access to ITAR/EAR Technologies. Applicant must be a US Person (US citizen, permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations.
