We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented RF Engineer Tech to support engineers in the setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of test equipment and evaluation boards. The ideal candidate will assist with RF testing, analyze test data, and perform various hands-on tasks related to building, repairing, and modifying test setups. You will be part of a collaborative engineering team ensuring accurate test results and high-quality performance in the lab.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, troubleshoot, and calibrate test benches per engineers' project requests, ensuring the equipment is ready for accurate and reliable testing.
- Conduct and debug test setups to verify test parameters and ensure smooth operations. Assist engineers with RF testing, including reviewing and analyzing test data.
- Analyze test results and provide recommendations for improvements to engineers based on data insights.
- Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on lab equipment to ensure it is in optimal working condition.
- Ensure RF test equipment meets Qorvo's calibration standards and is maintained regularly. Maintain compliance with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) standards, performing quarterly ESD preventive maintenance (PM).
- Manage inventory and ordering of lab supplies and equipment through SAP, E-req, and online channels.
- Build or modify custom evaluation boards to support various testing needs and projects.
- Design and build wiring harnesses for testing purposes.
- Troubleshoot and repair evaluation boards at the component level, ensuring functional integrity.
- Perform custom milling, drilling, and tapping on aluminum and copper base plates for test setups.
- Utilize 3D printing technology to create custom components that assist in project testing.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in electronics, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Hands-on experience with test bench setup, calibration, and RF testing.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing electronic components and systems.
- Experience with RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
- Familiarity with ESD compliance and preventive maintenance practices.
- Proficient in the use of SAP, E-req, or similar systems for inventory management.
- Skilled in custom fabrication, including milling, drilling, tapping, and 3D printing for test setups.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret test data and suggest improvements.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineers to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with custom evaluation board design and modification.
- Knowledge of RF components and circuits.
- Familiarity with lab safety and equipment handling protocols.
