The Advanced Cellular Test Engineering Group develops production test solutions for Qorvo’s Advanced Cellular RF and Power Management semiconductor devices. The mission of this position is to design, deliver documents for fabrication and ownership of the PCB layout for a socketed test fixture. This fixture will be used for test development, correlation, first sample deliveries, and production test of our semiconductor devices. 


  • Partner with Test Engineers to simulate RF performance prior to PCB tape out to mitigate performance issues after the PCB is manufactured, delivered, and assembled. 
  • Partner with Test Engineers for hands on characterization of PCBs in the lab once they are delivered, and/or after they are assembled with SMD components and socket
  •  Solicit Test Engineer’s feedback regarding PCB/Fixture performance of your PCB designs.
  • Research PCB design trends and processes, and then implement those processes that improve our fixture performance.
  • Participate/Lead continuous improvement activities that improve PCB performance, Layout cycle time and first pass success
  • Develop knowledge of Qorvo’s documentation structure and processes to maintain version control and consistency



  • The RF PCB Layout Technician role will require:
  • Expert in PCB layout for RF performance using supplied schematic. Understanding of Microstrip, Coplanar Waveguide, and strip transmission lines to determine the best fit for RF performance in each PCB design.
  • A solid understanding of the physics and electrical principles of PCB design, particularly for signal integrity concerns, impedance control/matching, multi-site interactions and EMI/EMC mitigation.
  • Experience with ADS, ANSYS HFSS, RF Pro or other RF Simulation tools
  • Understanding of PCB fabrication processes to ensure PCBs are designed observing the principles of Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
  • Strong Altium or other PCB design software skills
  • Knowledge of DRC capabilities of the tool and implement appropriate rules to ensure first pass success of PCB designs.



  • Associates degree in technical field or equivalent military training preferred 
  • 4 Years’ Experience doing RF PCB layouts
  • Strong Problem solving skills.
  • Willing to work occasional overtime to support organizations needs
