Qorvo has an opening for a Die Sort Process Engineer at our Hillsboro, Oregon facility. Candidate must be capable of working within functional teams to support production, process, and development efforts in various areas within the factory. Background or exposure working with die sort electrical test process or other wafer fabrication processing which could include: Wafer Grind, Die Singulation, PECVD, PVD, Thin film Deposition Processes, Reactive Sputtering, Metrology (SEM, Reflectometry, AFM, Ellipsometry, Profilometry, Resistivity, XRD), Photolithography, Dry/Wet Etch, Electroplating, and Semiconductor Packaging.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and conduct controlled experiments to characterize process capabilities and drive variation out of the process.
- Perform data analysis using various analysis tools to determine root cause, correlations, and interdependencies of factors affecting yields.
- Successfully work with other multidisciplinary groups (management, logistics, production team, maintenance, facilities) in a team-oriented work environment.
- Simultaneously support development/improvement projects and provide sustained manufacturing support.
- Provide small team project leadership to reduce costs, reduce cycle time, improve yield, and drive continuous improvement.
- Perform return-on-investment (ROI) analysis to justify new tool purchases or process changes.
- Work with the operators/technicians and other unit process engineers to eliminate defect sources in the process.
- Follow the principle of "own the entire process".
- Demonstrated sense of urgency and a passion for team success.
- Results-oriented and require little supervision and direction.
- May include some equipment troubleshooting and repair responsibility
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS/MS/PhD or equivalent in engineering or physical science.
- Recent College Graduate
- Understanding of statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), fault detection and classification (FDC), and basic RF concepts.
- Experience with data analysis tools (Spotfire, JMP) and exposure to CAD (AutoCAD, Solidworks).
- Programming experience preferred: script writing, SQL queries
- Experienced in development and completion of qualification plans.
- Demonstrated application of structured problem-solving methods.
- Must be flexible and able to adjust to changing goals, objectives, and policies of the company, and have excellent time management and organization skills.
- Versatility and ability to work on multiple tasks.
- Some programming experience preferred: script writing, SQL queries
- Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Windows-based software.
- Experience with concept and practices of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
