Summary:

Qorvo Power Device Solutions (PDS) is seeking a qualified candidate for a power electronics laboratory technical role, assisting applications engineers with measurements of SiC power products (discrete devices, co-packaged smart power devices and high power modules) and development of test circuits for them. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform testing, data logging, data analysis using equipment like oscilloscope, voltage/current probes, high voltage power supplies, electronic loads, and software like Microsoft Excel
  • Assemble PCB with bill of materials using soldering/desoldering tools following circuit schematics and technical diagrams
  • Assist construction and maintenance of testing systems including installing wiring, outlets, controls, capacitors, inductors, transformers, high voltage power supplies and loads using hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wire strippers
  • Troubleshoot problems and make timely repairs to malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus
  • Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts
  • Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical codes, blueprints, and standards


Qualifications: 

  • Desired Degree: Associates or Bachelor’s degree 
  • At least 2 years' experience as an electrical technician or equivalent
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering and fault-testing equipment
  • Physical Stamina – Electrical technicians may be required to move around all day. Sometimes they work at great heights and sometimes in cramped spaces. They must have the physical fitness to meet the demands of the job
  • Physical Strength – Electrical components can weigh up to 50 pounds or more. It’s important to be strong enough to lift and move this equipment
  • Color Vision – Because electrical wiring is color coded, electrical technicians need to have excellent color vision
  • Troubleshooting Skills – To find, diagnose, and repair problems, electrical technicians must be good at troubleshooting
