Sr Bio Manufacturing Quality Engineer

The Biological Manufacturing Quality Engineer will be responsible for manufacturing quality mainly in the Plymouth, MN facility.  The position will work closely with internal and external customers, resolving quality issues. Flexibility and understanding across multiple technologies such as SMT, microfluidics, semiconductors, and medical device assembly is required.




  • Serving as key quality resource regarding product performance and capability in cooperation with Process Engineering, Operations, Test, Design, and as products ramp and reach maturity
  • Monitoring, reporting, and improving key quality metrics
  • Interfacing with technical stakeholders on quality issues
  • Partner with manufacturing personnel to drive 8D teams and other continuous improvement activities
  • Communicating quality metrics and results and status of technical issues with engineers, product teams, corporate quality, and customers
  • Act as the liaison with internal assembly sites to resolve discrepant material issues (DMR’s)
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years' work experience
  • Master’s or PhD degree in engineering or physical science preferred
  • Lean and continuous improvement project successes must be demonstrated
  • A good understanding of microfluid/semiconductor device physics and processing
  • 5 years' experience in medical devices manufacturing role is preferred
  • Experience with semiconductor packaging techniques is preferred
  • Highly inquisitive with a strong desire to enact improvements
  • A good understanding of statistical analysis of data
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter and ability to work independent of direct supervision
  • Troubleshooting and data analysis abilities
