Job Description


The Qorvo Software Group is looking for an Staff Embedded Software Engineer with responsibility for developing and working on Microcontrollers within the organization. The microcontroller team currently works on the development of a UWB stack, from the low level driver to the full end user API. The environment includes Nordic and STM32 platforms, on FreeRTOS, Zephyr or even myNewt.


The Staff Embedded Engineer will bring their expertise to work on specifications and functionality of the UWB stack. As an Engineer within the OSWG team the successful candidate will take responsibility to produce high quality solutions to run Qorvo Hardware products into the future.




  • The Staff Engineer will be responsible for adopting and ensuring best practice Technical methodologies are in place within the team.  The successful candidate will work with the team to adopt, maintain and ensure consistency across the R&D org
  • Act as a technical leader within the team by ensuring technical efficiencies are in place and disseminate technical knowledge among group members.
  • The Staff Engineer will be responsible for delegating tasks and responsibilities among the team.
  • Ensuring the highest standards and technical consistency are met for each Software Release.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure timelines and goals are in place and achieved by the development team.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing software for embedded devices and systems
  • Proficiency with software configuration and management tools, defect tracking tools and peer review
  • Knowledge of best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operation
  • Designs, develops, tests, and debugs software and/or tests. Develop and direct software system testing procedures programming and documentation. Coordinates and installs routine software. Provides inputs for documentation of software
  • Participates in multidisciplinary research and collaborates with hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of software
  • Proven ability to work with complex algorithms and data structures, write code from the ground up, and test and improve existing code





  • Master’s degree in a related field of Study or equivalent
  • 7+ years industry experience in Embedded Software Development.
  • A proven track record demonstrating the ability to work autonomously as well as a demonstrated background operational excellence.
  • Experience in addressing technical roadmaps from inception to feasibility study through to production and release.
  • Strong knowledge of C and C++ is mandatory
  • Knowledge of FreeRTOS, Zephyr or MyNewt is required
