Qorvo’s Characterization Engineering Internships are offered in our Advanced Cellular business group.  Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

 

Summary:

The selected candidate will delve deep into the realm of UWB radio system security, uncovering vulnerabilities and designing robust countermeasures. This role offers the opportunity to make significant contributions to the burgeoning field of UWB technology, ensuring its secure adaptation in various applications, particularly positioning. The analyst will be pivotal in safeguarding UWB systems against malicious attacks and ensuring they serve their purpose efficiently and securely.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Conduct thorough security analysis of UWB (Ultra-Wideband) radio systems through academic research, emphasizing distance shortening attacks.
  • Investigate, identify, and document vulnerabilities and potential threats in UWB radio systems.
  • Assess the effectiveness of existing countermeasures against distance shortening attacks and identify potential areas for enhancement.
  • Propose and design innovative countermeasures to bolster UWB radio systems’ security.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate the proposed countermeasures into existing and future UWB radio system designs.
  • Use a balanced approach of theoretical analysis, simulation studies, and hands-on experimental evaluations to gauge the security and efficiency of UWB radio systems.
  • Collaborate with industry experts and stakeholders to stay updated on evolving UWB technology and threat landscapes.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing MS in system security or Computer Science.
  • Comprehensive understanding of UWB radio systems and associated vulnerabilities.
  • Familiarity with wireless communication systems and security protocols.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools and experimental setup for radio systems evaluation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication abilities to present research findings and proposals clearly.
  • A proactive attitude, able to lead initiatives and drive research projects to fruition.
  • Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work efficiently in multidisciplinary teams.
