Job Summary:

Seeking a system leaning Industrial Engineer intern to work on hybrid IE/Software projects. Projects would be in close partnership with a Global Operations Industrial Engineering Council and IT Manufacturing Systems SmartFactory organization. The main projects of interest will be related to proof-of-concept activity for automating material handling in a semiconductor Fab setting, exploring simulation software available to quantify line balance algorithms and capacity modeling, manufacturing metrics and reporting. There will also be opportunities for various continuous improvement projects in support of manufacturing.



  • Design and recommend factory and workstation layout to enable material handling automation in the fabs, explore hardware and software required
  • Drive software evaluation process for simulation capability
  • Hands on software integration data analysis and methods
  • Partner with wafer fab industrial engineers, and other IT Manufacturing Systems resources and the manufacturing team, on projects



  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Currently enrolled in BS or MS in Industrial Engineering with completion of at least two years of school prior to beginning of internship.
  • Self-Starter with good communication skills.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor wafer processing and/or knowledge of lean manufacturing principles are desirable.
  • Strong Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Experience with data analytics, statistical analysis and business intelligence tools like Tableau, Spotfire
  • Experience in SQL, writing data‐driven reports, working with data, methods for Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes, relationship between data elements.
  • Logical thinking

This position requires export control work. Selected candidate must be able to obtain necessary licenses.
