NOTE: Because this is a student internship, candidate must be a currently enrolled student in a degree-seeking accredited program.


This is a full-time Intern position located in Hillsboro, OR. The position will be temporary in nature and last approximately 3-months.


Job Summary:

Qorvo's Hillsboro Oregon Device Characterization Lab collects and analyzes on-wafer data in support of GaAs technology development and for other groups throughout Qorvo. Capabilities include DC/S-parameter wafer mapping, microwave and mm-wave load-pull, noise parameters, as well as pulsed IV, 1/f noise and others as needed. The current team is small and needs to grow in support of a lab expansion currently in process.

We seek an intern who can contribute to refining and developing new lab capabilities while developing skills in very advanced microwave measurement. Candidates should have sound understanding of microwave measurement fundamentals with experience in on-wafer microwave measurement, vector network analyzers, device physics, modeling and detailed knowledge in one or more topics such as load-pull, noise, etc. 


Degree Seeking: MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering



  • Perform on-wafer calibration of Network Analyzers for S-parameter, Noise-parameter and Non-linear measurements
  • Write or revise custom software for controlling Network Analyzers and DC Source-Monitor Units
  • Perform S-parameter, Noise-parameter, and Non-linear measurements of advanced III-V technologies
  • Analyze measured data for quality and performance metrics
  • Generate reports summarizing the salient features of S-parameter, Noise-parameter, and Non-linear measurements
