Qorvo’s EDA team is seeking a talented sr. software engineer to manage PDK development team. This EDA/CAD Software Development Manager position comprises a 50/50 mix of team leadership/management and direct PDK, DRC and LVS code development. The ideal candidate chosen for this role will provide user friendly, seamlessly integrated software for improved design methodologies, faster visualization of results, process control and improvements, and general automation. The candidate will use Python, and C++ in conjunction with existing Software and APIs. The successful candidate will lead a small team of PDK development engineers, working in close cooperation with Process Technology Development, Device Modeling and Product Design teams to produce, support and maintain best-in-industry Process Design Kits (PDKs) for GaAs and GaN technology based RFIC, MMIC, and mm-wave IC components.



  • Researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programs
  • Deploying software tools, processes, and metrics
  • Writing and implementing efficient code
  • Working closely with other developers and engineers
  • Testing and evaluating programs
  • Determining operational practicality
  • Provide comprehensive support to internal customers; achieve resolution to outstanding problems, or issues
  • Work in close communication and cooperation with Process Technology Development, Device Modeling and Product Design teams to design, produce, support, and continuously improve Product Design Kits (PDKs) for GaAs and GaN based RFIC, MMIC and mm-wave IC components. 
  • Lead a team of 3 or more PDK Development engineers to produce, support and continuously improve the PDK infrastructure (PDK, DRC, LVS, ERC, script programs) for several state-of-the art GaAs and GaN IC technologies used in Qorvo RFIC components and products.
  • Manage multiple PDK development projects with respect to planning, resource assignment, on-time delivery, documentation, and progress reporting.
  • Interface with 3rd party Electronic Design Automation (EDA) vendors (e.g., Keysight, AWR, Cadence, Mentor Graphics) to communicate Qorvo specific needs for vendor product support, maintenance, and development.



  • BS Computer Science with 6 or more years of experience
  • MS Computer Science with 4 or more years of experience
  • 5+ years of software product development experience
  • Excellent Python/C++ programming capabilities
  • Well versed in Object Oriented Design (OOD), programming and design patterns
  • Experience in SCRUM (Agile) development process
  • Extensive experience in the full life cycle of the software design process including requirement analysis, design, prototyping, coding, documentation, implementation, and maintenance
  • Strong Version control skills (GIT)
  • Strong familiarity with the use of IDEs
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of algorithms and data-structures
  • Experience in successful team leadership and project management.
  • Proven leadership and management skills: cross functional team cooperation, employee development, problem solving, conflict resolution, project management
  • Familiarity with high performance RFIC, MMIC and module design flows
  • Proficiency with major electronic design automation (EDA) software platforms (e.g. Keysight, AWR, Cadence, Mentor Graphics,)
  • Proficiency with Windows and LINUX computer systems and system administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Some travel may be required, ~10 days per year, depending on company needs
