RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Become acquainted with the various water waste treatment and water purification systems at the Hillsboro campus by reading specs, training materials, and system walks with the engineer.
  • Monitor water systems performance by using SPC and SCADA information and participate in system troubleshooting and repair.
  • Perform audits on water treatment (e.g., AWN, Grinder Reclaim, high arsenic treatment) and water purification systems (e.g., reverse osmosis, ion exchange, filtration) to identify areas for reliability improvements and water savings.
  • Support high value capital projects on water treatment and purification systems.
  • Under the direction of the Water Systems Engineer and Facilities Engineering manager, complete a project in approximately 2 months and report out on to the Facilities organization.
  • Interface with Fab tool owners to find ways to reduce water usage.
  • Research new equipment and assess risks/rewards for new and existing water systems.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Chemical engineering
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Self-Starter, good communication skills, and the ability to work in a highly integrated team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated mechanical/engineering aptitude
