Die Yield Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Yield engineer/Process sentinel:

  • Device Engineering activity of monitoring parametric performance, probe yield and take appropriate proactive actions
  • Collaborate with other Yield and Process engineers to drive yield improvements
  • Monitor visual defect levels and work with other process engineers to find root cause solutions
  • Partner with process development engineers to ensure new processes launch successfully with high yield
  • Define die sort test condition for quality test for fab defect monitoring with Test Eng and Product Eng
  • Interface with other engineering groups in a team-oriented work environment to address yield issues and implement solutions to improve yields
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours when required to support 24x7 manufacturing environment

Manufacturing Support:

  • Disposition nonconforming product and establish disposition guidelines for production
  • Determine root causes of nonconforming product and take appropriate action
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate defects and nonconforming material

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics or equivalent required. Master's degree preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a semiconductor product or yield engineer desirable
  • Basic knowledge on analog/RF circuit analysis
  • Demonstrated expertise to interpret data using statistical techniques (time-series analysis, DOE, SPC, ANOVA)
  • Analyze and effectively present technical information on process flows, Transistor device structures
  • Expertise in SQL/AI/Python script writing for database manipulation and pattern discovery
  • Familiarity with Si or GaAs processing techniques and processes (CMOS, HBT, pHEMT, MESFET)
  • Understand IC fabrication technology and techniques
  • Knowledge of device physics and/or electrical operation of CMOS, HBT, pHEMT, and MESFET devices
  • Engage in group problem-solving and process improvement projects (familiarity with Six Sigma or LEAN methods is desirable)
  • Write clear and concise specifications, reports, instructions, etc.
  • Exercise proper engineering discipline required in a manufacturing environment
