SOFTWARE QA ENGINEER
Desired Degree: EE, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other Engineering/Software degree
Summary:
The QA Tester is a key player supporting Enterprise Business Systems’ QA test needs. A successful candidate will be comfortable integrating with our support teams both internal and external to provide efficient QA testing using manual or automated methods. The QA Tester will be familiar with testing best practices and open to learning new systems and processes.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a QA Test role.
- Good discipline generating and maintaining test artifacts to promote a sustainable process.
- Software/Engineering background with software testing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver QA testing results meeting/exceeding KPI targets.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good at documenting
- Detail oriented.
- Organized and efficient.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with at least one automation tool (HP QTP, Test Complete, Tosca, etc.)
- Experience working with ERP systems like SAP is a plus.
- Able to interpret and present data to various levels of business and management.
- Experience with load testing is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Study/ Review and approve the solution requirements and map solution requirements to the test scripts (RTMs)
- Actively participate in end-to-end business transformation efforts including support the solution requirements gathering and vetting, test scripts, data sheet, Requirements Traceability Matrix, and to prepare for go-live and subsequent run/maintain.
- Perform hands on manual and automated testing of enterprise business systems including functional unit testing, integration testing, User acceptance testing and regression testing
- Develop and maintain test scripts
- Develop and maintain data sheets
- Review and approve the solution requirements and map solution requirements to the test scripts (RTMs)
- Participate and contribute to the scrums
- Proactively contribute to test readiness activities including requirements review and finalization, test scoping efforts, leading test script generation tasks, planning and scheduling test insertions as assigned.
- Learn and adhere to the Test Management policies and standard procedures. Demonstrate Standard Work usage and maintain a current and efficient standard work model.
- Perform hands on expansion of Testing Automation footprint to drive efficiency. Develop, Review and promote the automated scripts to production.
- Accountable for the Testing KPIs, collaborate with the teams to meet KPIs and with internal and external customers to drive improvement.
- Apply LEAN principles and use 8 step problem solving to improve KPI and other related testing processes.
- Contribute to testing related papers suitable for conferences and benchmarking.
- Collaborating with our offshore team for efficient delivery.
