Test Development Engineer

Characterization Test Engineer:  This position will be working with the product development team in our Mobile Products group, developing automated test measurements, collecting and analyzing performance test data, and supplying conformance test reports for each of our products in development. 



  • Develop and implement automated RF test solutions to support the characterization of the DC and RF performance of RF integrated circuits (RFIC’s) such as Multi-mode, multiband Power amplifiers (MMPA’s), Switch PA duplexers (SPAD’s), and RF switches 

  • Generate test plans (e.g., equipment setup, device under test programming, measurement development) based on review of device test requirements and Mobile communication standards (GSM, EDGE, CDMA, WCDMA, LTE, LTEA, NR) 

  • Collect performance test data (ACLR, EVM, SEM, IMD, S-Parameters, etc.) 

  • Analyze data and prepare results for product team review using data visualization tools (e.g. Spotfire, JMP) 

  • Work with design and application engineers to identify and resolve issues to improve product compliance 

  • Write characterization software for test automation using Microsoft C#.NET, VB.NET  

  • Train other engineers and technicians on RF test methodologies and test platform 


  • BSEE or MSEE 

  • Familiarity with RF equipment (VNA, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Duplexer, Filter, Coupler) 

  • Solid understanding of analog, digital, and RF theory preferred 

  • Experience in RF hardware and software test development using object-oriented programming languages; C#.NET and VB.NET preferred 

  • Written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical information 

  • Strong collaboration and team skills with a continual learner attitude
