Qorvo’s Advanced Solutions Business Unit is seeking an RF Applications Engineer to help test, analyze, and optimize our next generation products. Our customers are the leaders in smartphones and wireless devices. As a part of the Business Unit Applications team, you will have the opportunity to work with industry experts across multiple disciplines to develop complex, high-performance RF products for the top-tier market.


Qorvo’s Business Unit Systems/Applications Engineers are recognized as component, subsystem, and measurement experts who are involved in many stages of the development cycle - in early definition stages, through prototyping and product improvement cycles, and into high volume manufacturing. This position involves working with Marketing, Systems Engineering, and Design Engineering teams to support customer needs and position Qorvo’s integrated products for design wins in high profile phones. This position also involves working with Test, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to anticipate and prevent issues during high volume manufacturing ramps.



  • Assisting in the development of RF components like Power Amplifiers/SPADs, ETICs, and other RF front-end components supporting 4G and 5G (FR1 and FR2/mmWave) standards.
  • Optimization of components’ settings to achieve the best tradeoffs of multiple performance parameters (for example, ACLR, EVM, harmonics, current consumption, and noise).
  • Running automated data collection using Qorvo tools, analyzing routines for test time improvement opportunities, and developing new test software routines and optimization algorithms using platforms like Microsoft Visual Studio, c#.net, and Matlab.
  • Generating internal and customer-focused product documents: Datasheets, programming guides, application notes, and presentation material.
  • Support of Design Engineering, Product Engineering, and Test Engineering teams to transition designs from prototype to high volume manufacturing.
  • Providing technical guidance on customer specifications, evaluation board designs and test setups. Completing data reviews, compiling compliance reports, and working with product/test engineering groups to set test limits based on statistical yields and system level impacts.



  • BSEE or MSEE and 3+ years of directly applicable industry experience with RF front-ends and a demonstrated history of individual problem ownership and resolution.
  • Hands-on experience with RF equipment including signal generators, spectrum/vector signal analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc. is required. Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills are similarly important.
  • Strong RF fundamentals and a good understanding of RF and baseband impairment modelling for transmit and receive systems.
  • Programming and algorithm development skills are highly valued.
  • Experience with cellular chipsets, envelope tracking voltage converters, and digital pre-distortion is a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and leadership skills are more important than any single skill mentioned above.
