SUMMARY:

 

GO Prototype supports new product introduction (NPI) and technology development (NTI) objectives for Qorvo Business Units.  The goal of an Industrial Engineer is to eliminate waste, optimize prototype processes and make sure systems make the best-integrated use of workers, machines, materials, information, and energy. 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:


•    Develop and execute manufacturing process plans for semiconductor component manufacturing, continuously improve processes and plans using tools and methods such as statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE), and conceptualize, design, and execute tooling requirements
•    Identify root causes and corrective action of technical production problems and develop re-work instructions as needed.
•    Participate in and/or lead process improvement teams and other small project technical teams.
•    Lead Lean culture dissemination and drive lean culture across organization
•    Support Equipment Engineers with equipment specifications, vendor selection and implementation of new systems
•    Support the development of formal manufacturing technicians and operators training courses 
•    Continuously learn and apply a wide variety of engineering techniques, contribute to projects in a team environment and investigate, transfer, and adapt processes, techniques, or methods.
•    Drive cross functional collaboration with internal and customer teams

 

REQUIREMENTS: 


EDUCATION and YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably IE

 

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
•    Experience in a production or prototype environment, preferably semiconductor or electronics industry
•    Creative problem-solving skills
•    Adept critical thinking skills for complex issues
•    Proven track record of leveraging data analytics to guide decision-making 
•    Solid analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
•    Customer service orientation, highly collaborative, and able to manage cross-functional stakeholders 
•    Exceptional communication and influence skills

 

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Recommend cost-saving and cycle time reduction improvements and drive results
•    Coordinate and implement quality control objectives, activities, or procedures to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, or minimize costs
•    Communicate with management and stakeholders to develop production standards
