The Engineering Equipment Technician will be responsible for providing equipment engineering support to GSO Test Ops through best maintenance practices and processes. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Contributing team member for process development,continual improvement efforts, control plans, FMEA’s and process standardization for the existing and future equipment to be used in Test Ops
  • Monitor ongoing Test Ops processes and quality to identify bottlenecks, equipment downtime and throughput issues
  • Support efforts to transition products from prototype in GSO to production in HVM sites
  • Work closely with GATE team to maintain process alignment with HVM sites
  • Issue, monitor and revise controlled documentation to ensure compliance with equipment and product needs
  • Thoroughly and accurately communicate equipment and process issues to Engineering Manager
  • Support scheduling, assigning, and completing preventive maintenance work orders 
  • Maintain control of spare parts inventory for Handler Maintenance group
  • Sponsor and/or participate in 8D and corrective action initiatives for customer returns or mis-processes in Test Ops
  • Lead training efforts for Test Ops Handler Maintenance techs
  • Decision Maker – composed and collected when faced with multiple and/or difficult challenges at one time 
  • Willing to work off-shift hours/days (as needed) to support critical ‘must have’ jobs.
  • Provide recommendations for new equipment selection and implementation (e.g. documentation, facilities, buy-off, and training)
  • Team player – Dependable – Positive attitude – Motivated - Easy to work with
  • Understand product development, customer quality, cost, manufacturing process, cycle time, yield, supply chain, etc.
  • Interaction with Engineers, Supervisors, Directors, Technicians, and other manufacturing personnel inside Qorvo manufacturing facilities 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Education:  Associate degree in mechanics or electronics
  • Experience Required:  Minimum of 3 years of experience as a manufacturing/process technician in semiconductor or related electronics field
  • Preferred: Strong background in maintenance management processes, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), AOI vision, servo/step motor controls, computer and electronic repair support, vibratory feeder controls, dry bake ovens, wafer probe equipment.
