About the Role
We are seeking a Senior EHS Engineer to support the site EHS Manager in leading and enhancing risk-based environmental, health, and safety programs at our Greensboro, NC campus. This role is a key technical leader and change agent, responsible for driving compliance, advancing safety culture, and influencing operational excellence across a complex semiconductor environment.
You will work closely with Operations, Engineering, R&D, Facilities, and EHS to develop scalable solutions, implement best practices, and elevate site performance. This role offers strong visibility, cross-site collaboration, and leadership opportunities within a global organization.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior EHS Engineer, you will combine technical expertise with initiative and influence to drive measurable improvements:
Program Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Support / lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of site EHS programs aligned with regulatory, corporate, and customer requirements
- Identify systemic risks and implement sustainable solutions that improve safety performance and operational efficiency
- Support EHS strategy execution and contribute to corporate standards and cross-site initiatives
Risk Management & Compliance
- Conduct advanced hazard assessments and risk evaluations across areas including electrical safety, hazardous materials, machine safety, confined space, and industrial hygiene
- Ensure compliance with OSHA (29 CFR 1910), environmental regulations, and applicable standards (air, water, waste, DOT)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies and support inspections
Incident Prevention & Investigation
- Lead incident investigations, applying structured root cause analysis and ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions
- Analyze trends and metrics to proactively reduce risk and prevent recurrence
Engagement & Culture
- Partner closely with site leaders and cross-functional teams to drive a culture of ownership and accountability
- Develop and deliver engaging, high-impact EHS training programs
- Lead or influence site safety committees, emergency response programs, and employee engagement initiatives
Audit, Systems & Reporting
- Co-lead internal audits and support external audits and certifications (e.g., ISO 14001 / 45001, RBA)
- Maintain EHS metrics, dashboards, and reporting to monitor performance and drive data-informed decisions
- Support sustainability initiatives and corporate reporting requirements

Minimum Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on EHS experience in semiconductor, high-tech, or high-risk environments
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA (29 CFR 1910) and environmental regulations
- Experience in hazard analysis, incident investigation, and regulatory compliance
- Proven ability to independently manage programs and drive improvements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook) and web based applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 management systems
- Familiarity with Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) standards
- Experience applying Lean or continuous improvement principles
- Professional certifications (ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM) or progress toward certification
- Experience radiation and laser safety requirements
