RF Characterization Engineer

Qorvo is currently seeking an RF Engineer to support technology development, to help bridge gaps between RF measurements and simulations, and to enhance design kit development.

  • Supporting RF characterization and benchmarking of new technologies.
    • Providing detailed feedback on the capabilities of technologies in development to meet product needs.
    • Developing new methodologies to evaluate the suitability of technologies to meet product needs.
    • Taking ownership of RF measurement projects to ensure data is properly taken, analyzed and presented to project teams (S-Parameters, RF power and Load Pull measurements).
  • Advancing Qorvo’s simulation capabilities through projects which enhance designers’ capabilities to run sophisticated circuit simulations.
    • Comparing measured and modeled results to better understand the capabilities of compact models to predict circuit behavior.
    • Running complex ADS RF circuit simulations (including EM) and sophisticated RF measurements.
    • Driving improvements in compact models and simulation methodologies to enhance designers’ capability to accurately predict circuit performance.

Required Skills

  • Excellent understanding of microwave and RF signal theory.
  • Experience with circuit simulators (Preferably ADS RF power simulations).
  • Experience with RF measurements (S-parameters, Power Bench, Load Pull).
  • Experience with EM simulations (ADS Momentum, FEM or similar).
  • Strong programming and data analysis skills.

Desired Skills

  • Ability to set up, use and troubleshoot RF measurement test systems using vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, automated mechanical tuners, and related RF power test components.
  • Familiarity with compact modeling for RF applications for III-V HBTs.

Required Experience

  • BSEE with experience in RF measurements/simulations required. Advanced degrees or work experience desirable.
