Reporting to the Director of SEC Reporting and SOX Compliance, the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting & Reporting will be responsible for researching and documenting accounting implications related to complex topics (including purchase price accounting, debt offerings, supplier arrangements, software licenses and government grants). This high-profile position will work with various departments and levels of management within the organization.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the due diligence aspects around potential mergers and acquisitions
  • Responsible for understanding all accounting implications related to an acquisition and documenting purchase price accounting conclusions in “whitepaper” format
  • Manage the process associated with the preparation of the ASC 805 valuation report
  • Manage the ongoing accounting for certain intangible assets, including in-process research and development and intangible impairments
  • M&A technical accounting support
  • Responsible for annual goodwill impairment assessments
  • Responsible for the technical accounting aspects of business dispositions
  • Responsible for the technical accounting aspects of lease accounting (including embedded leases)
  • Review and understand various contracts/agreements for accounting implications
  • Research other complex technical accounting and reporting matters as they arise, and document conclusions reached in accordance with relevant accounting literature
  • Research and evaluate the impact of new or revised rules, publications and speeches of the FASB, AICPA, SEC and other agencies to ascertain impact on Qorvo financial statements and footnote disclosures
  • Responsible for the preparation and analysis of Reporting Unit financial statements using SAP
  • Communicate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including executive management, attorneys, internal auditors, external auditors
  • Prepare and maintain finance policies (ensuring standardization and adherence globally)
  • Participation in special projects on request

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting and CPA license
  • 12+ years of experience (or an equivalent combination of an advanced degree and experience)  in public accounting and/or industry experience with a publicly – traded company
  • Experience managing multiple projects or workstreams and prioritizing work to meet deadlines
  • Experience researching and evaluating the impact of new or revised rules, publications, and speeches from relevant agencies and documenting conclusions reached in accordance with relevant accounting literature (“white paper” format)
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining finance policies to ensure standardization and adherence globally
  • Ability to communicate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including executive management, attorneys, internal auditors, and external auditors
  • Understanding of US GAAP principles

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Accounting
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions is highly valuable for managing due diligence and purchase price accounting
  • Familiarity with manufacturing industry practices
  • SEC reporting experience (as an external auditor or as a preparer of financial statements)
  • Experience working within SAP
