Module Systems Engineer

Today’s Qorvo Modules are extremely complex. We need a skilled RF Module Architect to break down the module requirements into die requirements so the design teams will have confidence that their products will come together and work as intended.



  • Use your understanding of cellular and Wi-Fi standards and technologies to make optimum tradeoffs between performance, size, cost, and schedule for RF front-end products targeting mobile handsets
  • Work with tier-1 handset design engineering teams to understand their needs and concerns, and then flesh out project definitions with them that push forward the state of the art for mobile phone component RF function and performance.
  • Support Module Design teams by creating and applying system simulation and level-plan analysis tools to capture component-level and block-level requirements for RX and TX functions.
  • Work with other QORVO Systems Architects on a variety of advanced development projects including IOT, 5G, MIMO, CA, ET, UWB, baseband predistortion, antenna tuning, etc.
  • Represent QORVO at customer meetings and relevant industry technical meetings.
  • Create reports, presentations, and whitepapers on topics of general interest to the Qorvo design community.



  • An MSEE in electrical engineering (Ph.D. preferred) or an equivalent degree in a related area like Mathematics or Physics along with work experience that demonstrates competence in RF systems design.
  • 5+ years of experience designing RF products.
  • Solid expertise in mobile handset RF design, including lineup analysis and impairment budgeting.
  • Detailed knowledge of 3GPP and other associated standards as they apply to RF hardware and modulation types for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Generation cellular devices.
  • Familiarity with other wireless standards and systems including UWB, NFC, WiFi, and GPS.
  • Expertise in systems simulation using some combination of tools such as MATLAB, ADS, SystemView, AMS, VSS, etc.
  • Strong understanding of receiver design considerations including cascaded NF, blocking and intermod desense, and reciprocal mixing.
  • Strong understanding of transmitter design considerations including EVM, ACLR, spurious emissions, harmonics, and envelope tracking.   
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, technical confidence, and command presence when working with internal and external customers.
  • Comfortable being an expert and the ''go-to'' person in a specialized area. Willingness to share knowledge and mentor others, as well as to be mentored when appropriate.
  • Ability to drive open issues and tasks to closure.
  • Ability and willingness to engage directly with high-profile customers as required to generate and maintain company revenue.
