We are seeking a skilled IT Technician to join our Global Advance Test Engineering team. Our IT Technician will directly maintain, install, configure and optimize PC controllers, and associated test equipment. The successful candidate will also proactively manage reported issues, enhance software, and provide scripting solutions supporting production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain software and operating systems for lab/production controllers, including:
- Custom OS images for Windows and Linux environments.
- Third-party software, licensing, and firmware updates.
- Organization-specific applications and tools.
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues.
- Develop, debug, and maintain scripts (Shell, Batch, PowerShell) to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Test and validate new hardware and software prior to production deployment.
- Maintain and update technical documentation for systems, processes, and configurations.
- Provide technical support and training to the customer base.
- Manage inventory of computers, test station equipment, and components.
- Oversee vendor licensing and compliance for software and hardware.
- Support occasional international travel for system deployments or troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- Associates degree in the field of Information Technology and Networking or related technical field.
- 1-2+ years experience configuring and knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, including system administration and diagnostic tools.
- Experience supporting a manufacturing production environment.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining Shell, Batch, and PowerShell scripts for automation.
- Strong aptitude for systems administration, with a focus on troubleshooting and optimizing technical systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation purposes.
- Ability to travel internationally as needed.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Plus-Experience (nice to have)
- Experience configuring National Instruments (NI) 8xxx series controllers and PXI chassis.
- Familiarity with Keysight RF hardware configuration and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with imaging software such as Acronis or Clonezilla.
- Knowledge of Docker and containerized environments.
- Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
- Expertise in optimizing computer systems (e.g., BIOS settings, memory configuration).
- Familiarity with SharePoint development and maintenance.
