EDA Simulation Applications Engineer

Job Description:              

Qorvo is seeking an EDA Engineer responsible for automating and standardizing simulation flows.  The candidate will be responsible for developing automation for circuit simulations flows, documenting the flow, and provide training to the design community.  The tasks include developing simulation automation for verification such as ESD pulse simulation and module simulations. The candidate will support simulations of semiconductor processes such as SOI, CMOS, and III-V technologies.

Primary Tasks would include the following:

  • Develop and improve automation for circuit simulation flows and reporting results
  • Develop, document, and communicate simulation standards required for electrical verification
  • Perform and support analog, mixed-signal, and RF simulation activity across multiple technologies such as semiconductor processes including SOI, CMOS and III-V technologies
  • Collaborate with modeling teams to establish simulation metrics for compliance and coverage
  • Utilize high power computing infrastructure to develop parallelized circuit simulation methods
  • Determine and benchmark new EDA tools and platforms while identifying gaps and areas needing improvement



  • Required Skills:

BSEE or MSEE preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work and communicate effectively in a diverse, cross functional engineering climate
  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills in a multidisciplinary team environment


Required Experience:

  • Familiarity with RF, analog and mixed-signal design tools and flows in a multi-technology environment
  • Experience with one or more of these design tools:  Cadence, Keysight ADS and/or AWR
  • Familiarity with industry standard models such as BSIM, PSP and HICUM
  • Linux, Unix, Perl, Python programming
  • Microsoft Office proficiency


Preferred experience:

  • Cadence Spectre/APS/AMS simulation experience
  • Cadence Virtuoso simulation environment and Skill code
  • Keysight ADS or Microwave Office AWR simulation experience
  • Scripting experience with ADS or AWR
  • Experience with distributed, load-sharing and cloud-based simulation methods
