Qorvo’s Firmware Enginering Internship is offered in the High Performance Analog Business Group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

 

Responsibilities may include: 

  • Develop catalog and custom firmware for various gas gauge and other embedded devices
  • Work as a member of a team to contribute design schematics, simulations, and real lab data
  • Participate in project and resource planning
  • Collaborate with distributor and contractor engineers to deliver outsourced products
  • Write Design documents, Failure analysis reports, Customer training materials
  • Analyze and breakdown complex assignment into smaller, measurable tasks
  • Provide weekly report updating management progress and status
  • Able to write high quality design documentation.
  • Able to work with customers and gain their trust and respect.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Currently pursuing a MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Minimum GPA of 3.3
  • Able to read schematics and/or have done analog or power circuit design projects/ PCB design/layout
  • Working knowledge of 8,16 or 32 bit microcontroller architecture, prefer ARM
  • Experience working with version control and defect tracking
  • Expert C/C++ and python programmer with strong understanding of code generation
  • General understanding of assembly language
  • Worked with small RTOS or micro-kernel; multithreaded programming environment
  • Exposure to power measurement equipment such as precision source meters, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers preferred
  • Device driver experience (PC or embedded)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Self-Starter with good communication skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical information
  • Detail oriented to ensure design and delivery of high yielding products
  • Ability to enjoy working in fast paced work environment and as part of a team
