Responsibilities

  • Conduct site wide monthly AED, fire extinguisher and first aid kit inspections. Maintain fire extinguisher inventory and location diagrams.
  • Conduct weekly eyewash and safety shower inspections. Maintain safety shower and eyewash inventory list and location diagrams.
  • Conduct other daily, weekly, monthly EHS inspections (emergency exit routes, confined spaces, 6S, etc)
  • Develop and install safety signage (emergency evacuation maps, safety newsletters, etc)
  • Assist with completing JHA’s on job tasks in the manufacturing area.
  • Work with managers, supervisors, and other employees to identify and eliminate unsafe conditions and practices throughout the site.
  • Assists with the compliance of Federal, State, and Local Regulations such as OSHA, DOT, EPA, and NFPA.
  • Emergency Response Team Coordinator
    • Maintain database of emergency response team members
    • Ensure emergency response team members certifications are up to date
    • Develop and present training to emergency response team; such as emergency procedures and evacuation.
    • Coordinate and perform annual fire evacuation and severe weather drills, and other drills as deemed necessary.
    • Inventory, maintain, and stock emergency response supplies
    • Periodic assessment of site and related metrics to determine ERT membership needs, regular program marketing and recruitment of volunteer members
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in an Environmental or Safety program.
  • 1-3 years of EHS hands on experience or internship preferred.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of general industry safety regulations (CFR 1910).
  • Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, to include the ability to professionally communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize job duties responsibilities, and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to complete assigned projects on time and correctly.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office products. (Power point, Excel, Word)
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • General Industry OSHA 10-hour certification or the ability to obtain.
