Engineering Technician is need to support engineering activities such as design, assembly and testing of prototype and specialized test equipment for various business units. The essential functions of the position include:
- Entering and receiving equipment orders for purchase.
- Works from schematics, diagrams, written, and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform assembly and troubleshooting functions of PCB’s, automated test systems and their sub-assemblies.
- Assists engineers in various engineering activities including data collection
- Performs PCB assembly, troubleshooting and repair.
- Performs manual assembly of custom test systems and their sub-assemblies
- Documents and reports test/assembly results.
- Reviews, corrects, modifies and releases station documents.
The qualified candidate will have the following skills:
- Ability to work and troubleshoot problems independently
- Ability to work across departmental teams to create a robust production solution
- Fundamental understanding of electronic component operation
- Fundamental understanding of computer hardware and networking
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
- Be a self-starter and a team player.
The required/experience skills are:
- Technical AS degree or equivalent level of training and/or experience.
- Experience with test equipment including signal generators, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and multi-meters is preferred.
- Experience in soldering is required
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
