EHS Engineer

We are seeking an EHS Engineer who develops, implements, and maintains a safe, healthy, secure and compliant workplace by applying environmental expertise. This position will be primarily responsible for coordination of environmental compliance and supporting manufacturing safety and emergency response.



  • Develop and lead the environmental programs, policies and procedures of the organization to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements. Responsible for the development and continued improvement of site environmental programs, including air, water, and waste.
  • Prepare and maintain reports related to the facility’s environmental programs in compliance with Corporate expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Sustain the site Environmental Management System in conformance with the ISO14001 standard, including system documentation, internal auditing, incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Support new chemical reviews and approvals as well as maintaining the SDS online management system.
  • Hazwaste, air permit (title V), wastewater management, EPCRA reporting
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks, with ability to delegate tasks which can be performed by support personnel or other professionals.
  • Work independently to identify, plan and complete work that has a positive impact on worker safety and health protection.
  • Interact with all levels of organization, including management, technicians, and maintenance staff to ensure a consistent understanding and adherence to both regulatory and site requirements.
  • Manage accident administration processes including investigation, review reporting and accident prevention follow-up. Investigate the "near miss" accident situations and develop accident prevention solutions and policies.
  • Proven ability to develop presentations for stakeholders on environmental rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and lessons learned.
  • Able to identify environmental issues, develop an action plan to address issues, execute the plan and evaluate the success of the program.
  • Coordinate and conduct regular Environmental training as required.
  • Participate on Qorvo Corporate cross-site EHS Collaboration team.



  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering or similar field of study. MS degree and/or recognized EHS certification preferred.
  • 5-8 years’ experience as an EHS professional.
  • Experience in a fast-paced semiconductor or other high tech manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Federal and North Carolina regulations relative to EHS.
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials management and related regulations.
  • Experience with RCRA, EPA CAA, CWA, and EPCRA.
  • Experience leading ISO14001 program
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills; proven effective interaction between departments and projects using experienced program management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to listen to the needs of the individual and analyze resolution methods in a professional and economical manner.
  • Ability to interact with and positively influence employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with environmental regulation interpretations, EHS compliance audits, and development and implementation of EHS compliance programs.
  • Enthusiastic and innovative approach to environmental management, driving positive change.
