You will deliver robust, secure, and compliant embedded software for Qorvo’s automotive and industrial platforms (UWB/RTLS, RF connectivity, power management). Embed coding excellence, traceability, and secure-by-design principles into every layer—from MCAL drivers to edge SDKs—ensuring first-pass integration success and audit readiness.

Description:

Sr Embedded Software Engineer willbe responsible fordeveloping software onautomotive.In this role youwillbe responsible forall firmware development aspects life cycle from the software detailed design & implementation until the integration tests. 

 

Sr Embedded Software Engineer will engage and work with internal cross-functional engineering teams across the globe as well as collaborate with internal and external technical partners.In this role youwill need to be comfortable,experiencedand adopt working across time zones, geographical and organizational boundaries as well as ambiguity. 

 

Sr Embedded Software Engineer willleveragea structured and systematic approach, applying and verifying best practices and Lean Product Development principles such as Front Loading, Risk Detection & Countermeasures.In this rolewillparticipateto quotesoftware project development needs to respect the On-Time, On-Quality, On-Cost approach in relationwiththe software project manager.In this rolewill be responsibletospreadgood practices and specific skills to other engineers from the team. 

You will be the technical authority for embedded software design and implementation. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • All aspects of the software development life cycle: 
  • Ensure the link between the SW architecture team and the SW development team 
  • Technical study and detailed design definition 
  • Software implementation   
  • Unit and Integration test 
  • Core team member of software project team to develop new products/processes using DFSS tools & techniques and software metrics 
  • Work closely with software project management, softwarearchitectsand quality teams. 
  • Be a strong technical partner and provide support tosoftwareproduct development team. 
  • Perform firmware safety-oriented analysis (ISO 26262) 
  • Leverage structured new product development process andparticipateto stage gate frameworks 
  • Anticipate and alleviate bottlenecks,identifyand mitigate risks, provide escalation management,anticipateand maketradeoffsand be responsible to ensure every aspect of the project is properly and promptly executed. 
  • Constantly assess what is working, what is not working,identifyareas forimprovementand consistently drive continuous improvement. 
  • Work with Hardware on boot modes, power sequencing, and timing sync. 
  • Partner with Systems/Architecture on interface contracts and NFR budgets (latency, memory, power, reliability). 
  • Assist FAEs/Customer Support with complex integration issues and field escalations. 
  • Secure Software Lifecycle by implementing secure boot, image signing, and OTA update mechanisms with rollback protection and by applying secure coding practices: input validation, memory safety, least privilege, and crypto integration. 
  • Ensure backward compatibility, versioning discipline. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Embedded systems Engineering  
  • 8+ years’ experience in automotive embedded softwareANSI C (89 / 99)programming 
  • Experience in Microcontroller based system development 
  • Strong experience in C Toolchain usage: compiler / linker   
  • Experience in unit test and integration test (CPPUTEST / TESSY/GOOGLE TEST) 
  • Excellent knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and hands on experience in C programming and modern agile SW tool sets. 
  • Experience in UML with Enterprise Architect 
  • Experience with secure and safe coding standards for C (as MISRA C and other automotive static analysis) 
  • Good knowledge of Key Peripherals: ADC, GPIO, SPI, I2C, UART, etc.   
  • Good knowledge on protocols like LIN, CAN, SENT, PWM, Modbusetc… 
  • Good knowledgeonSoftware / Hardware debugging tools, Oscilloscopes, JTAG, Logic Analyzers.   
  • Good knowledge on version control software like GIT 
  • Good knowledge on Vector Tools: Canoe /Canalyzer 
  • Proven ability to execute on engineering deliverables   
  • Strong internal customer service mindset and mentality of delivering quality products and services on time and within company cost and profitabilityobjectives. 
  • Fluent communication skillsfacilitatingcollaboration with stakeholders 
  • Individual must be self-motivated and require minimum supervision, have strong planning skills and be able to deal with and balance multiple competing priorities 
  • Excellent motivational skills: a person with the ability to achieve goals and the highest standards of performance in adynamicfast pacedenvironment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree (Computer Sciences, Embedded Systems) 
  • Experience in Sensor technology 
  • Experience in automotive software development 
  • Sensor Calibration - Modular design   
  • Automotive Spice Knowledge 
  • Environment constraints: Low power / Small memory footprint coding 
  • Capacity to read HW schematics 
  • UWB knowledge 
  • Autosarknowledge
