BAW R&D software engineering / semiconductor process automation manager

 

Summary:

Qorvo’s BAW R&D Data Infrastructure team is seeking a talented data infrastructure and software engineering manager for semiconductor process automation. The candidate chosen for this role will lead the team to architect and develop data infrastructure as well as software tools supporting efficient development and production of new Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW) filter technologies. The manager will serve as a bridge between multiple software teams and the technology development organization. This position requires to both manage a team developing Matlab based infrastructure as well as driving external software development of multiple database and software tools required to efficiently develop and produce those new technologies.

This role will initially be split 50/50 between team management and individual contribution as a Matlab developer.

 

Key Roles and responsibilities:

  • Lead, support, and mentor a team of engineers in delivering data infrastructure for new BAW technologies
  • Understand new BAW technology needs and architect\coordinate software developments both internal to the team and external (within Qorvo)
  • Define best software development practices and drive their implementation in the team
  • Establish KPI’s and metrics to track the team’s performance
  • Research, architect, implement, deploy, and manage internal software applications
  • Analyze process data in order to drive improvements and new tools or feature development
  • Design and implement efficient Matlab code
  • Provide comprehensive support to internal customers: resolve outstanding problems or issues
  • Take ownership of critical data infrastructure projects and successfully deliver results in a timely manner
  • Enable a positive and engaging team environment

Technical Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:

  • Good experience in Matlab programming
  • Basic knowledge of semiconductor processing
  • Well versed in Object Oriented Design (OOD) and programming
  • Version control utilizing GIT
  • Good knowledge of SQL database (Oracle is a plus)
  • Good data analysis skills
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience in the full life cycle of the software design process including requirement analysis, design, prototyping, coding, documentation, implementation, and maintenance

  • Good experience with SQL database: query, PL/SQL scripts
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Spotfire or similar application
  • Understanding of basic semiconductor processes
  • 2+ years managing engineering teams

Required Education:

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Material Science with 6 or more years of experience
  • MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Material Science with 4 or more years of experience
