Sr. Global Applications Engineering Manager

SUMMARY:

Fast-growing Programmable Power Management division focusing on Motor Control, Power, and Battery Management solutions for a wide range of Industrial, Consumer, and Automotive applications is looking for an experienced applications manager to lead a global team of engineers driving direct engagement with our strategic customer base along with supporting new product & IP development.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage global team of applications engineers providing support for development, customers, sales, & marketing teams to design-in high performance motor control and battery management products. Directly supporting Qorvo’s Power Application Controller (PAC) family of solutions.
  • Lead team developing complete system solutions including both HW and FW solutions.
  • Drive team to support the overall ecosystems of development tools and collateral necessary to support our industry leading PAC portfolio.
  • Manage team priorities, identify project deliverables, create project plans, and track execution.
  • Provide technical guidance and propose system level solutions to customers specifically in the areas of motor control, motor drive, and battery management systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with sales teams, development teams, Marketing, Customers, along with senior leadership.
  • Guide team to generate user guides, application reports, evaluation boards, firmware, whitepapers, and training material
  • Evaluate and trouble shoot new products on bench
  • Provide technical support and training seminars to key customers, field application engineering and sales teams
  • Mentor and develop team

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BSEE degree in electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering and at least 5 to 10 years related work experience
  • Direct leadership experience in managing teams of applications engineers, setting clear objectives, establishing a team strategy, and executing.
  • Experience in applications with DC motors in consumer and industrial appliances (fans, compressors, appliance motors)
  • Proficient in motor control for BLDC and PMSM motors with FOC, V/f control
  • Experience with multi-cell battery management solutions
  • Experience with DC/DC and AC/DC power supply design
  • Experience supporting and programming Arm Cortex M0 and M4F MCU’s
  • Automotive experience is a plus
  • Must be self-motivated and results-oriented leader
  • Strong engineering background and business sense
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate complex technical concepts to different audiences with varying level of technical understanding.
  • Able to travel internationally to support customers
